Has anyone seen the Centerpointe.com site recently where Bill pretty much comes alive right on the main page. It's pretty wild. It's just Bill continuing to be creative and innovative.

Hi Jadey, sorry to hear you're feeling frustrated: I'm on Awakening Prologue as well. I would recommend emailing the support team; they're really helpful, and sent me a couple of long, detailed replies in response to some anxieties I had. Hope this helps. :)

Yes that's right , but only just if you don't have wax in your ears. Younger people can just about hear the 50/60 Hz hum of the mains frequency. Actually if you could hear the 200 Hz you would find it annoying, particularly if it were a pure sine wave. Along side this would be the secondary wave of 202.5 Hz or 197.5 Hz to give the upper or lower side band. Always assuming of course that your earphones are absolutely perfect and don't introduce secondary harmonic distortion which will also mix in your brain (assuming that's what happens) to produce yet further overtones and ghost sounds. This is what your brain 'thinks' it hears. It's a highly complex organ not a pure sound discriminator!

I know that the ears only can hear between 20 HZ and 20 kHz.
I am only saying that the carrier frequency of al4 can be heard clearly, which is possibly around 200 Hz.
Ofcourse I can't hear 2.5, 1.5. 0.5 and 0.3 Hz.

Prove it scientifically rather than reliy on mysticism and placebo effects. It is impossible biologically for you to hear sounds below 20Hz unless you are very young or a whale. What you are probably hearing are second harmonic distortion effects at higher frequencies coupled with white noise, i.e the rain.

Hi Gill,
I don't think that the bells are only there to make it more pleasant to listen to. I think that those tibetan bowls are there for being healing sounds. Those frequencies can have a positive effect on the body.
I can now hear the binaural beats more clearly, being on al4.
With the previous levels they were hard to discern, because of them being closer in frequency to the masking sounds of the rain and bells.
Now it sounds as if I hear my washing machine working in another room.

In further discussion about the birds and the bells (bees). Think about how do the sounds get from the CD to the brain even assuming that the tonal qualities a CD recording is perfect. The electrical signals produced by the audio player are transmitted to some electro-mechanical device (of which there are many - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Headphones) to and air pressure wave presented at the entrance to the ear canal. This pressure wave impinges on the ear drum and through a pair of small bones to the Cochlear inner ear where there are some 30,000 tiny hair that transmit the vibrations to the brain via nerve endings.

In older people these hairs become stiff, thick, break-off or whatever and no fancy stereo-headphone will overcome the loss, so whatever soundwave reaches the brain is highly dependent on age and on the ability of the sound generator to reproduce the original recording as intended, without loss or harmonic distortion, otherwise no aural beats will be created, let alone heard and all you will be left with is the birds and the bells and the sound of rain.

I'm not saying that it won't happen and can't happen, but there are an enormous number of variables, not to mention auto-suggestion.
Gill Tracy Comment by Gill Tracy on August 30, 2009 at 8:03am
In fact, are not the bells more or less just a pleasantry to concentrate the hearing? Beta and delta waves are below 10- 20Hz.

Normal head phones or in fact any headphone are capable of reproducing this frequency due to the mechanics of headphone construction. The frequency response of most headphones are only in the hundreds or thousands of Hetz. Usually 1Khz to 10Khz. Outside this range it is inaudible to most adults, so a method of audio beats or mixing is used on carrier tones. The rain and the birds are just a diversion, something nice to listen to.

The brain produces audio mixing internally, resulting in low-frequency pulsations in the loudness of a perceived sound when two tones at slightly different frequencies are presented separately, one to each of a subject's ears, using stereo headphones. A beating tone will be perceived, as if the two tones mixed naturally, out of the brain. The frequency of the tones must be below about 1,000 to 1,500 hertz for the beating to be heard. The difference between the two frequencies must be small (below about 30 Hz) for the effect to occur; otherwise the two tones will be indistinguishable and no beat will be perceived.

I sometimes think I can hear these beats as a wavering tone, but it would be interesting to view them on a sprectrum analyser.

That's right - The Dive takes you from beta to delta and Immersion keeps you in delta :) The only sounds you'll hear are rain and the bird as Gert said.
