To move forward, you must figure out exactly what is obstructing you. Whatever it is, it isn't really there; it has no reality. It's your own creation, a phantom lurking in the shadows of your mind, a shadow demon. Your obstructions are your demons, and your demons are shadow dwellers. They live and thrive in the half-light of ignorance, so the way to slay a demon is by illuminating it with the full force and power of your focused attention: by looking at it, hard. Banish shadow with light and see for yourself that no obstruction exists, nor ever did. We create our demons and we feed them. To awaken we must slay them. That's really the whole process: Slay one demon, take one step.
Repeat.

Yes i've heard that too. And there are some similiarities in their teaching. Both Adya and 'Jed' are big on The Truth and 'Jed' dismisses most systems but speaks highly of Zen, Adya originially was a Zen student.

Jed has written a trilogy of books on englightentment 1)Spiritual Elightenment - The Damnedest Thing, 2) Spiritual Incorrect Englightenment & 3) Spiritual Warfare. I'm just near the end of the first book and Jed really shakes up your beliefs about what you think enlightenment is all about and what it takes to get there. He asks why if so many people know about self-enquiry, why do 99.9999% of us not do it and read another book instead? If you really want enlightement why not just do it yourself rather than seel teachers and gurus? McKenna also says that enlightenment is as much as knowing 'what is truth?' as much as 'what am I?'
